A celebration of light, even in the depths of mid-Winter
Nelson Choral Society with Cottonwood Singers and special guests
Nelson Choral Society performs a selection of choral music that explores themes of light and illumination. Light as metaphor, as a journey from darkness to radiance, "light, warm and heavy as pure gold." Guest soloist is Noemi Kiss.
Also on the program is Cottonwood Singers performing largely sacred works by contemporary composers including American Morten Lauridsen's O Nata Lux, Canadian Larry Nickel's Kyrie Eleison and Latvian Rihards Dubra's Oculus Non Vidit.
And a special treat - Bach's Cantata 82A with performers Noemi Kiss (soprano), Ruth Langevin (flute), Wendy Herbison and Vic Neufeld (violins), Martine Denbok (viola) and Jeff Faragher (basso continuo).
